Melting Ice With Salt
This was by far one of my favorite science experiments we've done in a long time. It's pretty safe to say the same for the girls, since they continued to play with the ice blocks until they were gone!
I gave each of the girls a block of ice, salt, and some colored water. We talked about the different ways ice melts (as it was beginning to melt outside from warmer temperature), we chose to melt it inside using salt. Once the ice started to melt, we added colored water to the top.
Pouring salt on top of the ice block. We could hear the ice cracking and making a little noise. I asked if they could hear it. The goofball, S, said, "No .... that's just your stomach making noises."

S also said that a squirrel lived inside her ice block, and that she needed to go get a squirrel to put in there? Their little minds lol.
We got the magnifying glasses out at the end to take a look at all of the cracks and crevices and salt crystals. So cool.
