Balloon Week

Balloon Week

I was inspired by my 52 days of mom and me (Week #2) to have a Balloon Week with the kiddos. We started with some music and hitting the balloons around with our paddles.

They seriously had their balloons with them all day long. A balloon in itself is tons of excitement for a kid.

The next day, we decided to paint with our balloons.

D liked to dunk his balloon in all of the colors and then roll it on the paper. Ilah liked to mix colors. She made green, purple and brown, and added white to make colors lighter.

His hands were so cute covered in "blue" as he called it.

We're not afraid of a mess around here.

Beautiful.

I'm not too sure about this next activity as we have very little food coloring left. We go through a lot of it around here!

We squeezed food coloring into the balloons, and then I filled them up with water.

The girls brought them outside.

Tomorrow we'll cut the balloons off and see if we have colored ice balls outside. Fingers crossed!

It worked! However, I didn't get great pictures as we had cold hands (and one little girl with a broken fingernail).

Balloon basketball, anyone? We had the music cranking; there was dancing, jumping, cheering, and then eventually whining because we didn't want to take turns. The camera went down, and two more balloons were blown up and we continued on our merry way. This was a blast!

I think we'll leave the basket up until daddy gets home. We usually have weekend family football games, maybe this weekend it will be basketball.
