Marble Tunnel and Track
Right away this morning, D and I got to work on a marble run. Well, he got to work playing with his Thomas trains that recently received new batteries (thanks to Papa), and I had the perfect opportunity to set this up.
Josh and I bought a bunch of this plastic tubing (D calls it a tunnel) from Fleet Farm. I simply taped it to our train table.
Added the gutter (or choo choo track, whatever you choose to call it) and a plastic container to catch the marbles.
What the pictures don't show is D drove his Thomas trains all over this to begin with. Every new thing must involve trains, in his mind.
Finding use for these blocks everywhere!
Putting a marble in ... he'd say, "Watch this, Mama."
We are going to have fun with all of these:)
He seemed to like it ... the trains had fallen off the track and were running on their sides, and he continued to play! I turned them off - it drives me crazy when they're running and not being played with.
An action shot!
Down to the gutter. D would yell out, "Hooray!" and clap his hands at the end of each run.
This was so fun. After we cleaned all of these up, I had to change the little princess. D, naturally, took the marbles and threw them all over the living room. We cleaned them up, and went through the container of marbles through the marble run again. I love when activities are a big hit:) Speaking of big hit, I've got something planned for after nap and cannot wait!!
UPDATE:
So daddy comes home and instantly has the idea to add a funnel - awesome!
He and D had a lot of fun playing with the marble track. It was much easier for him to get the marbles through, especially when he wanted to do more than one at a time!
Dad caught one! These boys are so fun to watch.
