Like his cousins, D has found an interest in letters. A few days ago, I gave him a tracing book. At first, he didn't understand and would scribble to cover up each letter. But, with a little help from choo choos, he quickly got the hang of it.
Here, he's pretending his finger is a choo choo, and he's putting it down the track.
As he goes down the track, it disappears!
Note: I would guide him with some important descriptions to the letters; i.e. "The D track has a straight line and one big curve. You're going down the straight line; now you're going around the big curve." This way, when he asks me how to make a letter in the future, he'll understand my verbal descriptions.
Now, do you want Thomas (blue) or Percy (green)? He chose green for Percy!
He had fun "pushing" Percy down the A track!
He did A, B and C.
Then we moved to some smaller letters.
He did better than I expected!
And he enjoyed it so much that we had to add some more letters. So proud!
