Fine Motor: Tooth Pick Drop

I bought some plastic salt & pepper shakers from The Dollar Tree. Tooth picks fit perfectly through the little holes on top.

 

As an added fine motor activity, I put the toothpicks on contact paper for him to pick up. 

I didn't tell D what we were doing, just set it out to see what he'd do. 

He figured it out right away. 

Love the concentration - and excellent hand/eye coordination! 

He held the toothpicks in many different ways, turned them around many times and tried different angles.  

After a while, he had to do two at a time.  

I love the simple things:)
